About

Yan is a second-year PhD student at MIT Operations Research Center, co-advised by Prof. Patrick Jaillet and Prof. Negin Golrezaei. He researches the intersection of Economics and Computer Science using an online learning toolkit, with interests also spanning bandits, reinforcement learning theory, and non-convex optimization.

Recently, his work has focused on developing provably robust mechanisms for strategic economic systems under incomplete information, e.g., for online resource allocation systems or agentic markets. Yan wins the ACM SIGMETRICS 2025 Best Paper Award and is a 2026 Two Sigma PhD Fellowship Runner-Up.
