Vasily Zadorozhnyy

Vasily Zadorozhnyy is a senior researcher in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG), focussing on advancing deep-learning models and their applications.

Before joining Microsoft, he was an advanced computer scientist at SRI International, where he worked on computer-vision models and applications.  Additionally, Vasily was a research intern in ASG in 2022, where he developed unsupervised speech-enhancement models.

Vasily received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Kentucky, where he studied machine-learning and deep-learning techniques under the advisory of Dr. Qiang Ye.  His academic journey has been marked by a strong interest in unsupervised learning techniques, particularly generative adversarial networks (GAN), and their applications to natural-language processing (NLP).

In his spare time, Vasily enjoys swimming, spending time with his family and puppy.
