The On-premises data gateway (personal mode) is a client agent to refresh data from on-premises data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Files, etc. It empowers business analysts to securely and easily keep their data in Power BI in sync with their on-premises data. Analysts can now refresh content in Power BI without having to depend on the IT department to configure any gateway or data sources. Once the On-premises data gateway (personal mode) is running on the computer, data refresh is seamless. When you run setup, the On-premises data gateway (personal mode) Wizard guides you through configuring your connection from Power BI service to various on-premises data sources.
