Crowd IQ
Human computation and crowdsourcing are new paradigms for leveraging the intelligence of groups of people to solve problems. Techniques based on these paradigms are used by Microsoft in services including Bing search, advertising, and Xbox Live Marketplace recommendations. But how does this collective intelligence work? What is the best way to compose the opinions of many individuals into one giant mind, getting the most ‘intelligence’ for the group?
We demonstrate a new approach for measuring crowd intelligence by letting a group of people collectively solve problems from calibrated IQ questionnaires and aggregating their responses.
