Before working for Microsoft I worked for the National Health Service\u00a0<\/span>(NHS)\u00a0<\/span>in the UK for nine years<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0and we had to deal with complex and significant situations regularly, but nothing\u00a0<\/span>with\u00a0<\/span>the scale and impact of the current\u00a0<\/span>pandemic\u00a0<\/span>crisis. At Microsoft<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>we know we<\/span>\u2019re<\/span>\u00a0several steps away from our healthcare customers on the front line<\/span>s<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0but\u00a0<\/span>we\u00a0<\/span>feel\u00a0<\/span>the need<\/span>\u00a0to help those customers and partners<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>whatever way possible<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>They have shared with\u00a0<\/span>us<\/span>\u00a0how the current situation creates\u00a0<\/span>unexpe<\/span>c<\/span>ted\u00a0<\/span>challenges as they work to handle the overwhelming demand for care, support of their\u00a0<\/span>f<\/span>irs<\/span>t-line<\/span> clinicians, and the need for vital medical resources.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I<\/span>\u2019ve\u00a0<\/span>been inspired by the work that many of our customers have undertaken over the last few week<\/span>s<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>like\u00a0<\/span>stories from\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Centers for Disease Control and\u00a0<\/span>Prevention<\/span>\u00a0(CDC)<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Providence St. Joseph Health<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Washington State,\u00a0<\/span>Helsinki University Hospital<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Finland,\u00a0<\/span>St. Luke’s University Health Network<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>Pennsylvania State, <\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>National Health Service<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0<\/span>UK.\u00a0<\/span>They<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>have implemented\u00a0<\/span>technologies in\u00a0<\/span>their regions and have seen a\u00a0<\/span>r<\/span>e<\/span>al<\/span>\u00a0difference in scaling their capacity<\/span>, patient responsiveness, and remote worker support<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Working together to make a difference<\/h2>\n

The other thing that I<\/span>\u2019ve<\/span> found inspiring is watching our customers, partners, and M<\/span>ic<\/span>rosoft employees put\u00a0<\/span>aside\u00a0<\/span>normal business<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and come together to\u00a0<\/span>figure out what we can do together to help\u2014and <\/span>make a\u00a0<\/span>real\u00a0<\/span>difference. I<\/span>\u2019m\u00a0<\/span>proud of how\u00a0<\/span>our company<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>has\u00a0<\/span>responded by making critical<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>platforms and capabilities available\u00a0<\/span>at no cost, like in the examples<\/span>\u00a0mentioned above<\/span>. <\/span>Our teams are\u00a0<\/span>contacting<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>customers\u00a0<\/span>to help make them\u00a0<\/span>aware of\u00a0<\/span>the available\u00a0<\/span>assistance,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>so they know there<\/span>\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>support<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to help\u00a0<\/span>during this\u00a0<\/span>crisis.\u00a0<\/span>Below are\u00a0<\/span>resources\u00a0<\/span>to help\u00a0<\/span>healthcare provider organizations\u00a0<\/span>as they\u00a0<\/span>deliver large<\/span>–<\/span>scale messages to their employees, remote facilities, and <\/span>support\u00a0<\/span>their communities at large: <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
