Mathew Salvaris

Mathew Salvaris is a principal applied science manager in Microsoft’s Applied Sciences Group (ASG).

Before joining ASG, Mathew led the Machine Learning Modelling team at iRobot, where he developed and deployed perception models on millions of Roomba devices worldwide.  Before that he served as a principal data scientist at Azure, working on cloud-based A.I. solutions.  His research interests primarily revolve around vision-language models (VLMs), computer vision, and embodied intelligence.

Outside of work, Mathew enjoys climbing, cycling, and snowboarding.
